Wednesday - And the internet's off!

I've just received a text from Julie saying that she's been trying to get on to the Internet for 20 minutes without any success, so I don't think we're going to be having an e-mail from her this evening, unfortunately.

I can tell you a little of what's been going on. This morning they were tracking a Rhino. The area that they were working in was around the Waterburg Plateau where Julie said that the views were stunning. They tracked the rhino by telemetry, so they saw blips on their screen but didn't actually see it! I gather there are six black rhinos at the farm, Julie promises she'll update us on that another time.

After lunch they returned to the centre where an intense thunderstorm came through. The team retreated inside whilst the cheetahs huddled up together and watched the train. It may very well be that the thunderstorm has caused a disturbance to the internet connection at the farm.

Julie's just told me that they're doing a 12 hour game count tomorrow. They're leaving at 5.15am - so one of this evening's activities is to make sandwiches for tomorrow! The alarm's set for 4.30am!
